Uh, crap.
Sarah Palin was, of course, going to have a successful speech no matter what, but I don’t care how you spin it, she did really well. And, yes, delivering well-crafted lines in front of a sympathetic audience is very different from a debate or facing a hostile press. We’ll see how it all pans out. But those cuts to the younger daughter playing baby with her little brother? MY ovaries hurt. And the tableau at the end with the whole Palin family? Even poor Levi, who looked like he knew there was a secret sniper trained on him throughout the whole speech and he DAMNED WELL BETTER SMILE, looked relaxed. In fact, the only miscue I found with the whole speech was the bringing out of McCain to join them all on stage. Dude looked like a SCARY OLD MONSTER. But, whatever, be on alert: Grandma is GOOD.
