John Green gets lucky.

“Looking For Alaska” by John Green is a book causing controversy at Depew High School. It’s described, by some, as a coming of age novel with sexually explicit content. One passage depicting teenagers watching a pornographic movie reads, “…She kept saying, ‘Give it to me.’, and moaning”.

It’s language and us of the “F” word has some parents like Gabriel Miller outraged. She is concerned that tax dollars would be used for it’s purchase. “A good piece of literature in my opinion does not need to contain all that vulgarity in order to get the point across.” said Miller.
Good for John. Everyone knows controversy helps move copies. I’m the parents at Depew High School, I’d be a little more concerned that my local news organization doesn’t know how to properly punctuate the possessive “its,” but, you know, maybe community standards are different there.
